《美國現代詩選》可謂是將美國現代詩譯介到國內的領頭羊。作者趙毅衡將可讀性和學術性同時考慮在內，為我國讀者鋪展敘述了多位極具代表性的美國現代詩人，如艾略特、弗羅斯特、威廉斯、桑德堡、肯明斯、普拉斯等知名詩人的優秀作品。

趙毅衡（1945— ）
知名學者、比較文學教授、博士生導師。1988年至2006年執教于英國倫敦大學，2006年起擔任四川大學文學與新聞學院教授兼符號學-傳媒學研究所所長。
代表著作有：《遠遊的詩神》《文學符號學》《廣義敘述學》等。
