請注意，書中所有連音、消音的規則和音組的練習，無非是為了使說話更流暢。所以這些規則不是用來強記，而是你把說話速度放快時，會自然而然產生的結果。在了解這些規則後，對聽力會很有幫助，在說美式英語的腔調上，也會有所進步。
