Welcome to Fun Phonics Manipulatives a collection of multisensory, hands-on materials we created to help students learn letter/sound correspondences and develop a strong sight word vocabulary. Phonetic pull-throughs, predictable books, and flip-books invite children of various learning styles and strengths to build and play with rhyming words in a fun way.
Recognizable pictures provide visual hooks, giving children an association for remembering letters and sounds. As children use these materials, we find that they picture the easily identifiable illustrations for the rhyming words in their minds when they encounter new words with the same blends. Whether for initial consonants or for rhyming word blends, these picture associations help children make that critical link between meaning and memory.
