“首100字”为第一套，内含8册读本，《小花猫》为第六册。读本内容以常用字书写，让孩子通过阅读学习认字。

此套套书的目标是让孩子学会首100个常用字。课文也附有汉语拼音、笔顺、轻声、变调、多音多义字和儿化韵注明，供师长参考。
